When hair, sebum and skin cells
form a block and bacteria get to this we get eruptions called pimples.
Some pores and oil glands get clogged and result in pimples. The recurrence of pimples is called acne Hormonal changes are another major cause. A pimple may occur in your face, scalp, tongue, cystic, lips, head or arms.
Eating chocolates or fried stuff will not make too much of a difference, but healthy eating - 3
servings a day of fruits and vegetables will help. We need to drink a
lot of water, have meals with whole grains and greens to avoid
constipation.
Some Don’ts:
Wash your hands frequently and try not to touch your face too often.
Keep your hair from falling on the face or forehead.
Avoid the use of make-up; try to let the pores breathe.
Don’t squeeze or pinch the pimples as the membrane gets ruptured and causes the sebum and bacteria spread.
Don’t wash your face more than twice because the more we wash the sebaceous glands become more active and produce more sebum.
Remedies:
Instead of soap use powder made from dried orange peels or use a paste of fresh orange or lemon peels.
Apply fresh Aloe Vera gel on the pimples, it will soothe and heal the pimples.
Apple cider is extremely powerful cure to clear the pimple scars as
well as pimples. Mix ½ teaspoon in a cup of water. Apply gently on the
entire affected area with cotton wool and leave overnight.
Garlic is an excellent cure for acne - A freshly sliced pod can be
gently applied on the pimple or a juice of garlic can be used, and left
on for at least ½ hour. Although this stinks it is a pretty effective
method.
Using raw papaya is a splendid method; grated papaya can be squeezed
through a muslin cloth and the juice can be used. The enzyme papain is
very suitable.
The juice of mint leaves applied overnight for 2 weeks constantly will clear acne.
A blend of honey and limejuice can prove to help with constant usage.
Change your pillow cover every day so that the infection has no way of getting back to you.
Gently apply some ice on your face after a warm water bath so that the pores close.
These remedies can be used for pimples and acne on the face, neck and shoulders.
Women do get pimples with their menstrual cycles, which fade away on their own. Sometimes people inherit this dreaded ailment.

What's your Poison?
Most exotic of liquors across the world
When was the last time you saw a snake? In your wine glass, that is.
While
alcohol is undoubtedly one of the earliest inventions ever, man never
stopped experimenting and improving on it. From flaming shots of tequila
to super-strong Martinis, every generation has come up with newer and
more exotic ways to have their drink.
For a Douglas Adams
enthusiast, the best alcoholic beverage in existence is the Pan Galactic
Gargle Blaster - the effects of which are similar to having your brains
smashed in by a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick. But if
you are looking for the zaniest drink outside of fiction, here are a
few suggestions that may sound stranger than anything you have ever read
in a book.
A SCORPION… ON THE ROCKS
Vodka is for women, did you hear somebody say? The Russians couldn't disagree more.
A
strong concoction that once helped soldiers of the erstwhile Soviet
Union brave the biting cold of Siberia, it has served as a base for
numerous cocktails and been the inspiration for many an experiment in
cocktail mixing. But who would have thought that one day, somebody would
dunk an actual arthropod into your vodka bottle - tail et al?
While
a scorpion in your yard would be capable of delivering a sting that
requires immediate medical attention, experts say that the one in your
vodka bottle imparts a soft, wooden taste that - contrary to what you
may think - actually smoothes the sharp edge off the liquor. And what's
more, the scorpion is made to undergo a complete detoxifying process, so
you can actually gobble up the little critter once the drink is done. A
crunchy pincer, anyone?
GET HIGH ON LIZARD
If you believe that lizards serve no useful purpose, here's a little fable from Vietnam.
Once
upon a time, a couple of squabbling wall-crawling reptiles fell into a
vat of rice wine. Though aghast, the lady of the house couldn't bear the
thought of throwing away something that she had made so painstakingly
for the guests who were to arrive later that evening. So, imagine how
thrilled she was when they took just one sip from the weird concoction
and decided that the lizard liquor was the best they had ever tasted!
Ask
liquor experts who have been adventurous enough to try Three Lizard
Liquor, and they would say that its flavour is a lot like brandy - with
the most otherworldly aftertaste. But if you are the kind who wouldn't
touch one of those reptiles with a barge pole, we won't be particularly
judgmental if you decide to give this a miss.
SLITHERY PLEASURE If
you ask somebody 'What's your poison?' in Vietnam, don't be too
surprised if the person crinkles his face in deep thought and replies:
"Uhh… cobra?"
The reason for this reaction may be snake wine,
which - basically - is a kind of rice wine with a serpent thrown in it.
The snake isn't your regular garden variety either; the Vietnamese are
known to make their wines with venomous creatures such as cobra and
krait. According to experts, the characteristic taste doesn't come from
the snake's meat, but the poison itself. Thankfully, the wine's
inherent ethanol content neutralises the toxin - revealing a full-bodied
protein-rich spirit.
As if that's not enough, snake wine is
known to have curative properties - so you get a dose of good health
with that high. Provided the serpents aren't on your country's
endangered species list, that is.
Seagull Wine
SEAGULL WINE This
one comes straight from the North Pole. A drink developed by Eskimos to
keep themselves from freezing to death, seagull wine is widely
acknowledged as one of the nastiest liquors ever made. And unlike the
others on this list, the creature is not a simple addition to an
otherwise standalone beverage; it is used to make the wine itself.
The
process of manufacturing seagull wine involves stuffing the bird into a
bottle, then leaving it to ferment in direct sunlight for a prolonged
period of time. The taste? Experts haven't been able to make out the
difference between seagull wine and carburettor fluid, but they are
quite unanimous in their opinion that it does hit the spot. Hard.
ABSINTHE This
may not seem as exotic as snake wine or scorpion vodka, but make no
mistake, absinthe is the brand ambassador of the nasty beverage
category. Luminous green in colour, absinthe was banned for a good part
of the 19th century - and with justifiable reasons too. The liquor, made
of wormwood and anise, is said to have hallucinatory properties, and
has been associated with epilepsy, tuberculosis and a propensity to
indulge in violent crimes. But, that said, absinthe has also doubled up
as the muse for various personalities in the history of art - including
Ernest Hemingway and Henri Privat-Livemont. Now that it is legal again,
get yourself a bottle of the green fairy; just make sure somebody else
is driving the car.
500-Foot Ship Could Eliminate Seasickness With Artificial Waves
A single-hull hotel ship laid out by Norwegian firm Salt Ship Design is not only the largest of its kind, it might also cure seasickness.
The ship, which is 500 feet long, will provide temporary housing to
800 people working on off-shore oil rigs. Thanks to built-in tanks
crafted to counteract waves, living there will be almost like living at
home.
"The ship is designed primarily to have as little motion as possible
on the gangway," Johannes Eldøy, a project developer at Salt Ship
Design, told Mashable. "These roll reduction tanks have proven very efficient."
The tanks are filled with water; air valves on the roof of each blast
the water around to create waves of various sizes. The artificial waves
balance out the natural ones so the boat doesn't rock.
The vessel is also equipped with six azimuth thrusters that can
rotate to balance out waves that might otherwise throw it off-course.
This allows the ship to stay hooked to oil rigs in waves up to five
meters high, Eldøy said. It can also move around with much greater ease
than semi-submersible platforms of the past because it's more ship than
hotel.
The hotel portion won't be neglected, though. The ship will include
two outdoor pools, a movie theater, gym, lounge, sauna and conference
rooms, among other amenities, Eldøy said. The food served on board will
be "excellent." Hyundai Heavy Industries is constructing the vessel, which will take two years to complete. Edda Accommodation,
a Malta-based company that bills itself as an offshore accommodation
service provider, is the first to place an order for one. It is set to
be delivered in June 2015.
5 Signs You’ll Get Cancer
You have cancer” are three words you never want to hear . . .
Unfortunately, over 5,000 people in North America do hear those words —
every single day. Even worse, cancer has become the second leading cause
of death for Americans.
America’s foremost holistic health practitioner, David Brownstein, M.D.,
has spent much of his medical career studying cancer, and learning the
best ways to avoid becoming its victim.
And Dr. Brownstein does not shy away from the hard truth. Statistics
demonstrate we are not winning the war on cancer. Far from it. In fact,
cancer death rates have remained nearly unchanged over the last 80
years. Plus, traditional cancer treatments have been a dismal failure,
particularly when the initial cancer returns — often with a vengeance.
Because the only big winner in the cancer treatment story to date has
been the cancer industry’s multibillion-dollar profits, Dr. Brownstein
has just released a complimentary video documentary revealing some of his startling findings.
In this video, you’ll discover five specific signs that you will be diagnosed with cancer during your lifetime.
More important, you’ll see:
• Seven simple but smart steps to prevent cancer from taking over your body . . .
• How to help your body naturally kill cancer cells . . .
• Easiest ways to avoid known cancer-causing factors . . .
• The little-known relationship between iodine and cancer . . .
• And much, much more . . .
According to Dr. Brownstein, nearly all of us have cancer cells in our
bodies at various times during our lives. The trick is to avoid letting
those cells multiply and overwhelm the body’s natural defenses.
The good news is that you and your loved ones do not need to become cancer victims. With the simple strategies revealed in Dr. Brownstein’s eye-opening video, you can take steps to prevent this deadly disease, or even reverse it.
Keeping up with social media can be incredibly time consuming.
Flipboard puts all your social media in one place so you can see what's

——>Using natural aloe vera gel is a perfect way to help remove the oil that’s resting on the very top layers on the skin. If you have a great deal of oil in your pores or if these are clogged, you may also use natural aloe vera to help clean them out. You should use the gel a couple of times a day, directly after washing see your face. If that person is irritated, you are able to chill the aloe vera gel for a more soothing effect.
——->Use Natural Scrubs Creating a natural scrub or facial can be quite a great way to combat against the oils which can be found in your skin. There are many different recipes for scrubs and facials using items from around your house; in case you search on the Internet, you will find suitable options that will allow you to cast off old skin debris, cleanse your pores, and absorb the oil in your skin.
——->Avoid Touching Your Face A common reason why people have problems with breakouts on their skin due to oily kinds of skin is because they will almost always be touching their face all the time. Hands have connection with almost everything in a general day, in order that they are usually covered with dirt and oils, regardless of whether they are not visible. Likewise, hair that touches the face can also cause a problem since it can become oily or hold various types of dirt. Pulling your hair back during activities is an ideal way to avoid complicating your oily skin.

MTV launched the #UnlockMiley challenge immediately after the

Britney Spears) will eventually also appear in the 90-minute deluxe

Wednesday's broadcast followed Cyrus as she premiered "We Can't Stop," worked with Spears on a duet and unleashed her viral antics at the MTV Video Music Awards.

How to Optimize Your Profile Photos Across Social Media
Choosing your social media profile photos is an important task. They
represent the physical you in the online world, while providing an
all-important first impression to anyone viewing your profile.
In order to make the most of the available space, we took a look at how you can optimize your avatars and cover photos on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn and Google+.
Read our guidelines below, which include the optimum sizes for
imagery across all sites, and some handy tips and tricks to bear in mind
when choosing the right photographs.
Facebook
Facebook profile photos are cropped square, so we advise you to use
an image that is already in this ratio — that way, you can avoid hastily
cropping it right after you upload it. Profile pics are displayed at
160 x 160 pixels, but the image you upload must have minimum
measurements of 180 x 180 pixels.
Cover photos come in at 851 x 315 pixels. While the minimum size is
399 x 150 pixels, images that are smaller than the optimum dimensions
will get stretched and look awful.
Your profile photo is the one that's seen most around the site (next
to posts, comments, etc.), so it's important that your choice works well
as a small, standalone image. However, if you want to get creative by
making your profile pic and cover image work together, note that your profile image displays 23 pixels from the left side and 210 pixels from the top of your cover photo.
If you're all about fast load times, it's worth noting that Facebook
recommends your cover photo be an sRGB JPG file that's 851 pixels wide,
315 pixels tall and less than 100KB. If your image is logo- or
text-based, then Facebook suggests using a PNG file to get higher
quality results.
Twitter
Twitter displays profile photos really small, so it's
important to choose an image that works in miniature. Twitter also uses
square profile pics, so be sure to scale yours appropriately before you
upload it.
While the maximum file size for a Twitter avatar is 2MB, it will show
only as 73 x 73 pixels on your profile page and a teeny 48 x 48 pixels
in tweets.
However, if people click through to your profile and then click on
your avatar, it will show up larger (as it will in some Twitter
clients), so it's worth uploading an image that will display bigger than
the small, default sizes.
Twitter header photos can be up to 5MB in size. The recommended
dimensions for these images are 1252 x 626 pixels. Bear in mind your
Twitter account name, handle, bio, location and URL will all appear over
your header image, so you need to consider choosing a photo that will
work behind text and will not obscure the text.
Google+
Photos are a bit different on Google+, where the network crops
profile photos as circles. You'll need to consider what kind of image
will work in a round format.
Your avatar is displayed 120 x 120 pixels on your profile, but not
all of that will show up due to the round crop. With images showing up
as small as 48 x 48 pixels in posts and just 28 x 28 in comments and
other activity, this is another example of needing to choose a pic that
will work well on a small scale.
The Google+ cover, or feature photo, is a tricky one, as it
dynamically resizes depending on screen area. As far as measurements go,
the minimum size is 480 x 270 pixels, and the recommended size is 960 x
540 pixels, but if you want your image to look good on large or retina
displays, you'll want to upload a photo that's 2120 x 1192 pixels.
However, keep in mind that unless anyone takes the time to scroll up
on the default desktop view, there is only a small area of the cover
photo that will be seen on your profile — the very bottom.
YouTube
Since Google linked Google+ page identities with YouTube, your
YouTube "channel icon," or avatar, is linked to your Google+ profile
photo.
YouTube offers detailed information on how to optimize your other channel imagery though, including downloadable templates to help.
Similar to Google+, your cover photo, or "channel art" as YouTube
calls it, will auto-rescale to fit the size of screen on which you're
viewing a video. In order to get "optimal results on all devices,"
YouTube recommends uploading a 2560 x 1440 pixel image (including a
"safe area").
The minimum display size for channel art is 1546 x 423 pixels, so you
can be sure nothing within this area, such as text and logos, will be
cut off.
LinkedIn
As a professional social networking site, LinkedIn has some official
guidelines as to what kind of photo you can use. The site states that "a
photo can be removed by LinkedIn if your profile image is not your
likeness or a headshot photo," so it's best to stick to the basics.
With a max file size of 4MB, you can upload a square JPG, GIF or PNG.
The default size for a LinkedIn avatar on your profile page is 200 x
200 pixels, but users can click to enlarge the image up to 450 x 450
pixels.
Company pages are a little different. The standard company logo
displayed on LinkedIn pages is 100 x 60 pixels, and the square logo is
50 by 50 pixels. You can also upload a homepage cover photo-style image
to a company page. The minimum recommended size is 646 x 220 pixels.
8 Great Hidden Features in iOS 7
If you've upgraded to iOS 7 on your iPhone or iPad, you're probably familiar with a whole collection of new features. But some of the best additions in the software update are hiding beneath the surface and take a little time to uncover.
We've been digging deep into Apple's new mobile operating system,
discovering some surprises along the way. From night mode in Apple Maps
to a faster way to close apps, here's a few useful features that you can
find — as long as you know where to look:
1. Clock Icon
Go ahead and look at your clock app icon. Take a closer look. It's an
actual clock with a working second hand. A nice little touch from
Apple.
2. Text Timestamps
If you slide text messages to the left, you can see the timestamp for all of them — not just the most recent.
3. The Level
By opening up the Compass app and swiping your finger across it, a
new digital "level" feature is revealed. You'll never have a crooked
painting on the wall again.
4. Night Mode for Maps
If you're driving late at night, the glow of your iPhone screen can
be nearly blinding as you try to use the Apple Maps app. Now, the
platform displays a darker interface at certain times. This is less
distracting and easier on the eyes when navigating at night.
5. Closing Multiple Apps
You can close multiple apps at once! Here's how: double click the
home button to reveal open webpages and platforms. You can then swipe up
to three apps at the same time by using three fingers and dragging them
upwards.
6. Siri Controls Settings
You can use Siri to set alarms and reminders on previous iOS
versions, but now you can lean on her to navigate settings too. For
example, by saying "Open Settings," Siri will open the Settings folder.
By asking Siri to "Turn Off Wi-Fi," she'll gladly oblige without you
having to lift a finger. You can also tell her to make calls and play
voicemail messages too.
7. Block Calls
If you're getting harassing calls, you can now put a stop to it.
Visit Settings > Phone > Blocked to add numbers you want to
restrict.
8. Apps Near Me
The Apple App Store has a new "Near Me" feature, which shows apps
that are popular near your current location. So if you live in New York
City, it will highlight handy apps such as NYC Subway KICKMap and
Way2ride taxi, which lets you pay for cab rides via the app.
